Slovakian services to merge

Slovakia will see the launch of a new regional station in January next year. According to a local report, Regionalna televizia Prievidza will be based in the Nitra area and formed by merger of two existing services.

JimJam set to expand

The children’s channel JimJam will be introduced into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on December 7, according to a local report. JimJam made its debut on Sky Italia, where it currently broadcasts to over four million subscribers, in 2006. It was acquired this September as part of a partnership between Chellomedia and HIT Entertainment.

Revenue rise for Portugal Telecom

Portugal Telecom has posted operating revenues of €1,574.9 million for Q3, or 6.5% more than in the corresponding period last year. TVP goes for Autocue

The Polish national public broadcaster TVP has placed an order for eight Autocue software packages for deployment across 10 of its regional networks. Autocue provides a single solution for all transmission, newsroom, scripting and prompting requirements. It includes the BBC. Bloomberg, NBC and CNN among its clients.
