IBC 2008 Hall 1, Stand A71
Visitors to the NDS stand can go on a world tour without even leaving Hall 1 of the RAI centre. The technology company is demonstrating some of its recent deployments in the emerging broadband markets including Eastern Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
One of the benefits of IBC is to be able to view the technologies, present and future, which are currently being deployed on the world’s networks. These include Norway’s get, where IPTV is being used to serve homes outside the network’s cable infrastucture. Neighbour, and rival, Viasat is also using IP technology as part of a hybrid HD personal video recorder solution. Canal+ is using NDS know how and advanced middleware to deliver a multiroom PVR.
In recent years NDS has been able to demonstrate that its technology is not just for the blue chip operators such as BSkyB and Canal+. Serbia Broadband was up and running with NDS technology in a few short months and now NDS User Interface design services offer subscribers both off the shelf EPGs and the ability to design their own.
