Poland’s Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has had a rethink about the upcoming mobile TV tender.
Local reports indicate that the regulator has approached the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), the country’s other industry watchdog, with a proposal that would see the period of the licence extended from 2015 to 2023.
It would also see a mobile TV service launched nationally rather than just initially in 31 cities, as had initially been envisaged.
According to the KRRiT, there will now be consultations, and as a result the tender will not be announced in August.
