UPC Nederland has stopped analogue distribution of TV5 Monde in large parts of its networks to make room for Animal Planet. The channel remains available in Amsterdam, where the cabler has ousted BBC World News, as reported in Broadband TV News.
TV5 Monde has been removed in the province of Zuid Holland, including Rotterdam and environs, Hilversum and a large part of the province of Gelderland.
UPC and TV5 Monde also did not renew their contract for the channel to be part of the digital bouquet. It is the only French language broadcaster available on most Dutch cable nets.
