Altice is to give subscribers to its newly acquired Cablevision network their own taste of the fifth republic.
There’s plans to introduce a French language bouquet that would incorporate news channels such as the Altice-owned BFM.
Cablevision is also bringing in Altice’s Israel-based news channel i24 with the promise of a US-centric version that will make its debut later this year. It’s hoped the new channel, with its focus on Middle East politics, would pick up audience from the now defunct Al Jazeera America. The US version would also include content of direct interest to the United States.
The $17.7 billion acquisition was completed on Tuesday and already includes News 12 Networks, the first, largest, and most- watched 24-hour local television news network in the US.
