The Romanian regulator ANCOM has launched a new auction for two national, 31 regional and 19 local DTT multiplexes that were not awarded in previous selection procedures.
The qualification criteria remain the same as in the previous auction organised for awarding the regional and local multiplexes.
They are that candidates have to be a Romanian or foreign legal person (company), must accurately submit all the required documents and the operation period provided in the articles of incorporation should be at least 10 years from the entry into force of the usage rights.
Bidders for the national multiplexes must have an average turnover for the past three years or for the period since its establishment – if the company is younger than three years – of at least €2 million. The bidders should also not be part of another bidder’s group.
Applications have to be submitted by April 22 and two days later ANCOM will announce the applicants qualifying for the next stages of the selection procedure. The first winning offers will be announced on May 5, after which ANCOM is to announce whether auction rounds are required for certain categories.
The licences fees and lengths (10 years) will be the same as in the previous auctions.
In first of these auctions saw three national multiplexes awarded in June 2014, while in the second nine regional multiplexes were awarded in February this year.
