Conditional access provider Viaccess has signed a significant agreement with Ericsson for the supply of security software and services in support of its Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solutions.
“Viaccess strongly believes that future revenues for the operators will come from interactivity, interoperability and flexibility requiring cross platform services,” said Francois Moreau de Saint Martin, Viaccess CEO. “This business strategy requires a secured environment to support the sustainable development of the content industry.”
The deal is significant because it marks another step in the traditional multichannel CA vendors moving into the IPTV environment, which had previously been the domain of telecoms suppliers and new entrants.
