The French regulator CSA could have less control over TV services from next year, according to its president Olivier Schramek.
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Le Progrès, principally about France Télévisions, he said, when asked “will you be able to control Netflix?”, “Today, the CSA has jurisdiction over the media with headquarters in France. But next year, in the new European Regulators Group, we will discuss the consideration of where the programmes are received”.
Asked whether France Télévisions can be reformed, Schramek said that it could, but in the long term.
It has nevertheless already made significant progress to date.
