The Polish cable operator Inea has become the majority shareholder in WSS, a company building a NGA network in the Wielkopolska voivodship in western Poland.
Once finished, the network will be 4,500km long and reach 73% of the population.
Inea’s takeover of WSS is in accordance with an agreement reached in December 2010 and sees the operator holding a 74.68% stake in the company.
Asta Net (0.15%) and the Wielkopolski voivodship (25.17%) hold the remaining shares.
Inea is the largest cable operator in Wielkopolska and also one of the top five in Poland.
