The Romanian incumbent Romtelecom and its sister company Cosmote are to undergo a major rebrand and will operate under the name Telekom Romania from mid September.
Quoting a joint statement provided by the two companies, Mediafax reports that Romtelecom’s legal name will become Telekom Romania Communications, while Cosmote’s will change to Telekom Romania Mobile Communications.
Both Romtelecom and Cosmote are backed by Greece’s OTE, which in turn is 40%-owned by Deutsche Telekom.
Romtelecom is one of the leading providers of pay-TV (DTH, IPTV and cable) services in Romania.
