Liberty Global is satisfied with the return to growth in Romania after several challenging years, according to Manuel Kohnstamm, the company’s senior VP and chief policy officer.
Speaking to ZF, he added that Liberty is constantly looking for acquisition opportunities and to enter into partnerships, including in Romania, especially now that the local subsidiary has returned to growth.
However, while also saying that Liberty has made over 160 acquisitions, both large and small, in the last decade, he refused to discuss any possible targets in Romania.
UPC is the second largest cable operator in Romania with 844,000 subscribers and the third largest provider of pay-TV services, with 1.15 million customers after RCS&RDS, the market leader, and Romtelecom.
It is now seeing growth in terms of both revenues and cable customers.
