Amazon has signed a content deal with BBC Worldwide to bring BBC content on the Prime Instant Video service for the first time.
The agreement brings BBC drama and comedy productions from the past 20 years, including Sherlock, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, Last Tango in Halifax, Life on Mars, The Office, Absolutely Fabulous, Outnumbered, Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, and Red Dwarf, as well as episodes from Top Gear, to the Amazon video streaming service, which was formerly known as Lovefilm.
The deal is non-exclusive, as the broadcaster also has a similar distribution agreement in place with Netflix. Amazon’s service costs £79 (€95) annually.
