The Polish public broadcaster TVP plans to take-up all three of its allocated slots on the country’s eighth multiplex (MUX-8) in 2018.
Quoting Maciej Stanecki, TVP’s VP, Wirtualne Media reports that the slots can be used by three SD channels or one HD and one SD channel.
Two of the slots will be taken up by TVP Sport HD, while the third may be used by a planned new channel with the working title TVP Sport Premium.
On the other hand, the TVP may move one of three other proprietary channels – TVP Historia, TVP Kultura or TVP Rozrywka – from another multiplex to Mux-8.
MUX-8 was launched last year and also distributes four new commercial channels, one of which (Metro) is now wholly owned by Discovery.
