Digi Communications, the operator of Romania’s leading pay-TV operator RCS&RDS, has posted revenues of €329 million for the first half of this year.
According to Business Review, quoting a report submitted by the company to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, this was 12.1% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, Digi’s profit in H1 amounted to €31.8 million.
Digi had 2.9 million cable RGUs (+5.1%) as of June 30. However, DTH RGUs fell by 5.9% to 618,000 over the same period.
Commenting on the latter, the company said in a statement that this was primarily driven by some DTH subscribers terminating their contracts, moving to competitors or migrating from its DTH to cable services.
Cable generated the most revenues in H1 (€90.1 million), while mobile telecoms saw the biggest growth, up by 38.6% to €77.2 million.
