Vodafone wants to cut around 1,000 jobs in Germany in 2018.
This is reported by German business newspaper Handelsblatt with reference to sources close to the supervisory board. The cuts would resemble 7% of the workforce. The German subsidiary of the UK-based company currently employs around 14,000 people.
With the cutback, Vodafone wants to save around €70 million per year.
A Vodafone Deutschland spokesperson told the newspaper that the job cuts could not be confirmed at this stage, adding that the management and employee’s representatives would still be in discussions.
