Telefónica has announced plans to radically restructure its convergent offer in Spain, making TV services available to all the company’s fixed broadband customers.
Its new strategy coincides with the second anniversary of Movistar +, which was formed by the merger of Telefónica and Canal + offers in July 2015 and currently has over 5.4 million pay-TV subscribers.
Starting on July 9, Telefónica will introduce two new converged packages. The first, known as Movistar Fusion # 0, will include the channel # 0, Movistar eSports, DTT channels and 4,500 VOD titles and cost €45 a month in areas of 50Mbps internet access and €57 a month with 300Mbps.
The second, Movistar Fusion Series, will include the channel # 0, Movistar eSports, DTT channels and Movistar Series, Movistar Series Extra, Fox and Fox Live, along with over 8,000 VOD titles. It will cost €60 a month with 50 Mbps internet access, rising to €72 a month with 300 Mbps internet access.
The packages include a number of advanced features such as network recording and seven-day catch-up.
