Vodafone Deutschland has increased the maximum internet speed for downloads on its cable network (formerly Kabel Deutschland) to up to 500Mbps.
Uploads are possible with a data rate of up to 50Mbps. In the next two weeks, the high-speed service will be made available for 20% of the households in Vodafone’s coverage zone in Germany, corresponding with 2.5 million households.
The rollout will commence in 124 towns, both metropolitan areas and smaller towns, starting with Munich.
The 500Mbps service is offered in combination with other tariffs and as a stand-alone product from €19.99 per month in the first year.
The previous maximum speed provided by Vodafone Deutschland was 400Mbps.
