German telco Deutsche Telekom has added new partners to its controversial zero rating service StreamOn.
In the video area, OTT service Sky Ticket, video-on-demand (VOD) portal Juke and online video recorder save.tv were added. The new audio streaming partners include Soundcloud, Tidal and radio stations like Antenne Bayern, Rock Antenne, Radio Regenbogen, bigFM, Radio Gong 96,3, Kultradio and ERF Pop.
The service which launched in April 2017 now contains almost 50 partners.
StreamOn enables Telekom mobile network customers to use the included music and video streaming services without the data traffic reducing the high-speed data volume of their contract.
However, critics accuse Telekom of violating net neutrality with StreamOn. Germany’s Federal Network Agency has already launched an investigation.
[UPDATE, 01/08/2017] OTT platform Magine TV has joined StreamOn.
