Hispasat will participate in a live TV broadcast in Spain next week using 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology.
According to the satellite operator, it will collaborate with RTVE in offering the broadcast of the Solemn Changing of the Royal Guard from the Royal Palace in Madrid at 12.00 on July 5. The event may be viewed on the 4K channel, currently being tested by RTVE on digital terrestrial television and available in Madrid (channel 32), Barcelona (channel 43) and Seville (channel 36). It can only be viewed on 4K HDR TV sets.
Hispasat adds that a number of important companies, including Ateme, Loewe, LG, Dolby, Cellnex, Albala, Abacanto, Grass Valley, Crosspoint, EVS, Moncada y Lorenzo, Canon and Huri, have worked with it and RTVE in pioneering the broadcast at a national level. The National Heritage and Casa Real have also collaborated in the broadcast of the event.
The broadcast is part of the activities of the RTVE Chair at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, established in 2015, which has led to the development of a number of Ultra HD experiences.
Hispasat and RTVE have already worked together to promote Ultra HD technology through the broadcast of content via satellite from the Botón Rojo (red button service) of RTVE and the live 4K broadcast via satellite of the opera Parsifal from Teatro Real in April last year.
On Thursday, July 6, another 4K HDR broadcast will be available on satellite and DTT (only in Paris), the opera Carmen by Bizet, on Arte.
