Netflix is introducing support for the Dolby Atmos sound format.
It launches with Okja, Bong Joon Ho’s critically acclaimed sci-fi movie that recently received its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
“Much like how 4K and HDR bring more stunning and realistic visuals to the screen, Dolby Atmos delivers captivating sound that places and moves audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, to bring entertainment to life all around you, all in the comfort of your own living room,” explained Greg Peters, Chief Product Officer, Netflix.
Later, Dolby Atmos will also be available for BLAME!, Death Note, Bright and Wheelman.
Many of the titles will also be available in 4K and HDR.
Dolby Atmos streaming is currently supported on Microsoft’s Xbox One, One S and 2017 LG OLED TVs.
