Steve Nylund is to take over as head of Ericsson’s head of Broadcast and Media Services.
The current head of global services operations will be responsible for a portfolio that includes playout services for broadcasters including TV4 and C More (Sweden), NPO (Netherlands), Canal+ and TV5 Monde (France), the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BT Sport and Sky (UK).
Nylund joined Ericsson in 2011 as Head of Sourcing within Ericsson’s Network Services business area and in 2013, he was appointed as Head of Global Services Operations. Earlier, he worked for Kinnevik and MTG.
Reporting to Magnus Mandersson, Chairperson of Broadcast and Media Services, Ericsson. Nylund replaces Thorsten Sauer who is leaving the company.
Meanwhile, Angel Ruiz, the formerly Chairperson, Media Solutions, takes over from Elisabetta Romano as Head of Media Solutions.
Romano has been appointed into a new role as Head of Solution Area Packet Core, Business Area Digital Services at Ericsson.
In March it was announced that the unit, which incorporates the former Red Bee Media and the playout centre of Dutch broadcaster NOS, could be sold off. Already two new divisions, Ericsson Broadcast & Media Services and Ericsson Media Solutions, have been created in the area.
