Sunday’s One Love Manchester event has broken the record for live viewing on the BBC iPlayer.
The benefit concert is now the biggest live non-sporting programme in BBC iPlayer’s history.
There were 1,078,000 requests to watch live, even more than the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics 2012, the previous record holder.
The event at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground to honour and raise funds for the victims and families who were tragically affected by the Manchester attack was led by artist Ariana Grande. Her Manchester concert had been targeted by terrorists just two weeks earlier.
The coverage was produced by BBC Studios and organised in the space of a week.
It was watched in the UK by a peak of 14.5m on the night, making it the most-watched TV show of the year so far.
