German telco Deutsche Telekom has added several new partners to its zero rating service StreamOn.
The additions include OTT platforms Zattoo, TV Spielfilm live and waipu.tv as well as web radio portal Laut.fm.
OTT platform GigaTV operated by competitor Vodafone Deutschland will also become part of StreamOn in future, as Peter Kerckhoff, head of content at Deutsche Telekom, confirmed on a panel at ANGA COM 2017.
With StreamOn, Telekom offers its mobile network customers the possibility to use the music and video streaming services of selected partners without reducing the high-speed data volume integrated in their tariffs.
The service has led to controversial discussions. Critics accuse Telekom of violating net neutrality with StreamOn. Germany’s Federal Network Agency has already launched an investigation.
