Latvia’s second largest telecommunications company Baltcom grew its interactive TV customer base by 50% last year.
In a summary of its recent activities, it adds that the number of users increased by a further 10% in the first quarter of 2017.
Meanwhile, internet data traffic increased by 20% in 2016, when Baltcom expanded the coverage of its fibre-optic network.
All told, Baltcom has invested around €7 million in its services and modernisation of its network infrastructure since 2015.
This has been helped by investment from Providence Equity Partners, which provided a mezzanine financing deal for the company in July 2016.
Commenting on Baltcom’s interactive TV service, its chairman Nicolas Boisson said it would continue to pay great attention to its improvement and development.
Baltcom was established 26 years ago and provides its customers with fibre internet, interactive TV, digital TV, fixed telephony and electricity.
Its main owner is Luxembourg-registered Rpax One.
