Portuguese cable operator NOS has been fined €347,500 for breach of customer contracts.
Regulator Anacom says the fine was imposed in March for offences that took place prior to the cablenet’s merger with Optimus when it was still known as Zon TV Cabo.
In a statement Anacom said the operator did not accept complaints by telephone even though it had a user validation system in place. It also failed to inform customers of a 30 day deadline for the completion of any paperwork and rules surrounding the return of equipment.
Subsequently, NOS filed an appeal to the Competition, Regulation and Supervision Court.
