Euronews has confirmed the closure of its Ukrainian TV service to Broadband TV News.
Although it ceased on May 22, for SEO reasons the digital service will stop progressively and be closed definitively in the coming days.
Reports of the closure were carried in some Ukrainian, Russian and French news outlets. However, most if not all solely referred to a statement on Euronews’ Ukrainian Facebook page, which is no longer available, and did not appear to have been officially confirmed.
Le Figaro notes that the service was launched six years ago and stopped receiving finance from the Ukrainian government in 2015.
The Ukrainian public broadcaster is now understood to owe Euronews around €10 million.
