The Turkish public broadcaster TRT’s DG Senol Göka has handed in his resignation.
Hurriyet reports that in the letter of resignation, which was approved by TRT, he said that he considered the move to be necessary.
Göka began his career at TRT as a deputy producer.
He was appointed the deputy DG in 2014 and then became DG in October of the same year.
Erkan Durdu, the most senior deputy DG at TRT, will now deputise in the DG’s role.
