Romania’s leading pay-TV operator RCS&RDS attracted more mobile customers from other companies than other providers in the first three months of this year.
Furthermore, reports ZF, the incumbentTelekom Romania performed the worst and could soon see a large number of redundancies.
Figures produced by the regulator ANCOM and published by ZF show that RCS&RDS show that it gained 145,275 mobile customers from other companies in Q1, or 38% more than in the corresponding period in 2016.
At the same time, Telekom’s fixed unit secured 4,861 (-25%) and its mobile unit 18,049 (-7%).
Significantly, both Vodafone (38,225, -6%) and Orange (42,026, -5%) also secured fewer customers from other providers than a year earlier.
Telekom Romania is currently undergoing a process of reorganisation and will announce plans of how to return to growth in several key areas at a conference on April 11.
