The Spanish cable operator Euskaltel saw strong growth in the first full year following its IPO and integration of Galicia’s leading operator R.
It ended 2016 with 270,333 residential pay-TV customers, up 8.1% on a year earlier, while its residential broadband subscriber total increased by 1.4% to 394,810 over the same period.
Of the latter, over 90% had access speeds of 30 Mbps or higher.
Euskaltel also saw growth in the take-up of both its mobile and fixed-line telephony services.
Euskaltel’s revenues in 2016 amounted to €572.9 million and it had a profit of €62.1 million.
Commenting on the results, Francisco Arteche, the Euskaltel group’s CEO, said: “We are particularly proud of 2016. The financial results reflect strong growth in revenues, customers and profitability for the Euskaltel group. And especially because they reflect that we have fulfilled the commitment made to our shareholders, to our customers and to our market”.
