MTG says Viaplay has made a “promising start” following last year’s launch in the Baltics.
Like its home market of Scandinavia the streaming service has compensated in part for the subscriber erosion in the satellite markets.
Launched last July, Baltic consumers can subscribe to Viaplay for €9.99 per month for the complete content package, or €6.99 without sports. The service will is available via the Viaplay website and smartphone and tablet apps (Android and iOS).
Satellite ARPU remains positive following earlier price increases.
MTG recorded record Q4 sales of SEK 5,019 million, an 8% increase.
Other new channels have been launched including Viafree in Scandinavia, an online platform that offers content from free-to-air channels TV3, TV6, TV8, TV10, MTV and Comedy Central.
