Vice Media said its Dutch version of the linear Viceland channel will launch on March on the Ziggo in The Netherlands and on Telenet in belgium.
The Dutch version of the channel was announced last October. Apart from the distribution deal with Ziggo, Viceland will also be carried on Telenet in Belgium.
The Dutch channel follows the international roll-out of the channel in the UK, France and Ireland in Europe, as well as in Australia and New Zealand. The channel first launched in the US and Canada. A future launch in sub-Saharan Africa is in the works.
Original programming from the US will be shown on the Dutch channel, including Gaycation (with Ellen Page and Ian Daniel), Huang’s World (with Eddie Huang), Noisey (with Zach Goldbaum), FWeediquette (with Krishna Andavolu), and Balls Deep (with Thomas Morton). Vice also produces Vice News for HBO in the US.
For the Dutch language edition, specially produced Dutch and Belgian content will also be aired. Vice will in the future also be available on other platform in The Netherlands. At the moment, some 130 people are employed in the Amsterdam office of Vice. Viceland is a joint venture between Vice Media and A+E Networks.
