Croatia’s last remaining national alternative telco H1 Telekom would like to take over Optima Telekom, a telco that has itself offered to buy H1 Telekom.
Poslovni reports that Zoran Curkovic, the founder and a minority (9.8%) shareholder in H1 Telekom, has officially requested amendments to an extraordinary assembly being held by the company on January 25 to discuss such a move.
H1 Telekom is the only national competitor to Hrvatski Telekom (HT) and Vipnet that offers viewers fixed-line TV, broadband and telephony services, claiming around 100,000 subscribers.
It has attracted interest from Vipnet, while Optima Telekom is part of the HT group.
Curkovic has reportedly devised a plan that would see H1 Telekom consolidate its debt, complete its recapitalization and then take over Optima Telekom.
He has also suggested that it makes an offer of HRK1.70 (€0.23) per share for Optima Telekom, the same as has been made by the latter for H1 Telekom.
