He assumed the role on January 1 and replaces Paul Bennett, who is stepping down after 20 years. Bennett will work on a series of special projects for the remote control company.

For over a decade, Menno has played a really vital part in the company’s growth, and over the last three years he’s helped transform our subscription broadcast business to become the market leader in smart remote controls”.
Koopmans has worked at Universal Electronics for over 11 years in various product, marketing and sales leadership roles, both in the business-to-consumer and business-to-business segments. He’ll report to Universal’s chief operating officer Louis Hughes.
