Magyar Telekom remains the clear leader in the provision of fixed-line broadband services in Hungary, claiming a market share of 35.5% as of last November.
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, this was just under the combined total of its two closest competitors UPC (22%) and Digi (15.5%), with Invitel, the next most popular provider, claiming 9.4%.
Based on information provided by the leading providers, there were 1,145,138 cable broadband subscriptions in Hungary as of last November, of which the overwhelming number (1,002,6510) were via DOCSIS 3.0.
The number of FTTx and xDSL subscriptions meanwhile stood at 512,299 and 780,512 respectively, and the total number of (estimated) fixed access broadband subscriptions was 2,692,000.
