Discovery Communications has reached an agreement with RCS&RDS that both extends the distribution of Eurosport and sees the return of Discovery Channel to Digi TV four years after its withdrawal.
According to RCS&RDS, Discovery Channel will be offered to both its cable (analogue and digital) and satellite subscribers as a basic channel.
Viewers will also be able to receive TLC (analogue and digital cable, satellite), E! Entertainment HD (digital cable), HBO2 HD and Cinemax2 (HBO MaxPack).
RCS&RDS is the leading cable and DTH operator, with around 3.5 million subscribers to its TV services.
It withdrew Discovery channels from its line-up at the end of 2012 after failing to reach an agreement with Discovery Communications and subsequently introduced proprietary channels as a replacement.
