German video-on-demand service maxdome will take around 70 Hollywood blockbusters from 20th Century Fox aboard its line-up.
The deal was concluded with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution; financial details were not disclosed.
The movies will become part of the subscription video-on-demand package which maxdome customers in Germany and Austria can access for a monthly flat fee.
The acquired titles include, for example, Titanic, Avatar, Independence Day, Braveheart and Live Free or Die Hard. In January 2017, further movies will be added such as There’s Something About Mary, Taken and Juno.
ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary maxdome currently has almost one million customers and wants to introduce Ultra HD/4K content next year.
