Slovakia’s leading broadcaster TV Markiza has added several new features to its HbbTV service.
The CME-owned station teamed up with the Czech development company Mautilus at the beginning of this year in order to provide its viewers with more content and information within the HbbTV application.
After several months of optimising the first phase of the whole HbbTV project, the two parties have moved to the next phase, which includes the introduction of a video archive, EPG and several HbbTV games.
Commenting on the development, Petr Mazanec, CTO of Mautilus, said: “We believe that HbbTV games are the next step (for) broadcasting companies (to) offer more interactive and engaging services to viewers. (They are) also another potential monetisation tool, (and) not only within the HbbTV platform (as) we are able to prepare the same for all smart TV platforms.”
