VSE NET, a regional German fibre-optic network operator serving federal state Saarland, will launch an IPTV platform branded schlau.com in December 2016.
The multiscreen service complementing the internet and telephony offers from VSE NET will be based on the white label IPTV solution from Zattoo and operated under its own brand. It will be completely hosted and managed by the Swiss internet TV provider.
Following BBV Deutschland, M-net, NetCologne and EWE TEL, VSE NET is another German network operator opting for Zattoo’s multiscreen IPTV platform.
“With the IPTV solution from Zattoo, our private customers will now receive all important communication services from one provider. With attractive product packets comprising fast internet access, telephony and IPTV, we will unlock new revenue potentials and be able to put forward our powerful fibre-optic network even better,” Michael Leidinger, VSE NET’s managing director, said in Saarbrücken.
For the introduction of its IPTV product, VSE NET uses the framework contract Zattoo signed with German network operator association DNMG in April 2015. Gernot Jaeger, chief officer B2B TV solutions at Zattoo, added: “Another DNMG member was able to bring its own state-of-the-art TV product onto the market under its own brand within a few months, without having to invest in complex and expensive IPTV technologies itself.”
VSE NET’s IPTV customers can access – depending on the package – more than 100 TV channels, almost 50 of them in HD quality, integrated video-on-demand services including maxdome and several preinstalled catch-up TV apps. In addition, schlau.com allows channel lists to be synchronised across all devices – from the TV set, PC and laptop to the smartphone and tablet – and recordings can be scheduled on the set-top-box by using mobile apps.
The schlau.com receiver comes from German set-top-box solutions providers ABOX42. The box is the M20 model being used in projects world-wide.
