Dutch operator Ziggo has announced the launch of a new package of exclusive HBO content on January 1.
Ziggo will offer the full library of HBO titles as part of an on-demand service called Ziggo Movies & Series XL, which will cost€11.95 a month, and is included in the cabler’s top-tier product Ziggo Connect & Play Max at €77.95 monthly.
“We want to offer our customers unique and distinctive products and services; this move with exclusive content fits in fine,” said William Linders, VP of Programming of Ziggo. The offer will include unique HBO content on-demand, such as Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, The Sopranos, Girls and True Detective.
The news follows the announcement that HBO in the Netherlands will cease its three linear channels, as well as its VOD and TV Everywhere service HBO Go, at the end of the year. HBO Nederland is a joint venture between Ziggo and HBO Europe.
