Charter Communications has agreed to buy up to 6 million shares in set-top box maker Arris.
The purchase, to be made over the next two years, mirrors a similar agreement drawn up with fellow cablenet Comcast in July.
Charter will also purchase an agreed percentage of hardware from Arris’ Network and Cloud division.
Last month, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) delayed a vote on a proposal that could lead to consumers being able to purchase set-top boxes from 3rd party manufacturers.
