Tallinn-based TV playout and managed services provider Levira and the Nordic media specialist company June have entered into a long-term partnership to launch the first end-to-end service that manages the entire lifecycle of VOD and OTT content.
The service will combine June’s distribution agnostic CMS Comet with Levira’s competitive and flexible transcoding services.
Commenting on the development, Johan Middlemiss LéMon, partner at June, said: ”This is a long term commitment to offer a joint service that includes full responsibility for the complete delivery of content. Taking your content to multiple platforms should be easy and the business model should reflect that. The offer is an evolution of our services for current customers and a way to align our business with future customer demands for a streamlined and complete media delivery process.”
He added: “Managing VOD content has until now been a labour intensive and expensive task. There has been little competition in the market and no one has offered a competitive and flexible service that includes everything from transcoding and metadata management to packaging and distribution of content. That is where we will make a difference and offer a new service and business model.”
Indrek Lepp, member of the management board of Levira, said: “We are proud to announce this partnership with Nordic leading media specialist June. Levira’s experience of and competence in transcoding and June’s CMS and expertise in managing workflows, traffic, metadata, packaging and distribution makes it possible to offer our clients a solution without limitations”.
