Hot has signed an exclusive agreement with HBO after rival Partner Communications withdrew a claim that Hot had inflated its offer to keep it out of deal.
Globes reported that Partner’s chairman Adam Chesnoff appeared at the Tel Aviv District Court for the hearing. He said the offer was too high and did not match market prices.
The telco belatedly took judicial advice and withdrew its offer.
During the hearing it emerged that HBO had found out about Partner’s own negotiations through an email that had received in error.
Hot VP, Content and Regulation Yoram Mokady said the negotiations had in any case been ongoing for several years.
