Sky Deutschland has steadily grown the demand for its online and OTT services, that’s according to Alice Mascia, EVP Product Strategy and Management.
Sky D entered the OTT market in 2010 with a sports app created for the iPad. A year later came Sky Go, introduced as an extension to the main package.

In the last fortnight Sky Online has been integrated under the main Sky brand. At the same time Sky Ticket has entered the space occupied by Now TV in the UK with the same no commitment philosophy..
On the first match day of the new Bundelsiga season, 13 per cent of viewing was on Sky Go. It’s much the same in movies with one in ten of the top movies watched via Sky Go.
But this older demographic changes in series. The previous season of Game of Thrones saw a quarter of viewing being from Sky Go.
House of Cards, which was far from a ratings success in Germany, drew Sky Go a share of 43 per cent.
