The subscriber base of Russia’s leading pay-TV operator Tricolor TV has exceeded 12 million this month.
Of these, almost two-thirds (63.3%) received HD services.
The company notes that it gained over 904,500 HD customers between January 1 and August 15 this year. The total number of HD customers grew by 15% over the period to a total of 7.59 million.
Meanwhile, its revenues in H1 amounted to R7.84 billion (€108.6 million), compared to R5.85 billion in the corresponding period last year.
EBITDA increased by 32% and ARPU as of June 30 stood at R1,363.02.
Tricolor TV notes that the HEVC standard began to be used for six HD channels this summer.
As of August 15, they were received by around 600,000 subscribers.
