Twenty Russian TV channels will be available to 95% of the population of Crimea and Sevastopol by the end of the year.
Quoting Andrei Romanchenko, the head of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS), several news sources add that they are currently served by two Russian and a regional multiplex, providing eight channels to over 80% of the population.
Romanchenko added that there had been no investment in the upgrade of equipment in Crimea and Sevastopol isnce the collapse of the Soviet Union.
When part of Ukraine, they were served by 10 Ukrainian channels, while digital services were provided by four multiplexes, each carrying eight channels.
