América Móvil has reduced its overall shareholding in Telekom Austria from 59.70% to 51.89%.
In a statement it says that this follows its agreement to sell shares corresponding to 7.8% of the voting rights in Telekom Austria to the market.
América Móvil, which is controlled by the Slim family, is the leading wireless services provider in Latin America and third largest in the world in terms of equity subscribers. Within Europe, it has operations in seven countries.
Prior to the ownership change, Telekom Austria listed its other shareholders as OBIB – Republic of Austria (28.42%) and free float, including employee stocks and treasury shares (11.88%).
