BBC Worldwide has appointed Salim Mukaddam general manager and VP, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
In his new role, Mukaddam will have responsibility for Content Sales, Formats and Channels for the business across CEE. More widely, he will also play a key role in CEMA’s management team for the broadcaster. His former role was drector, Music in the Content division at the BBC’s commercial arm.
Commenting on the appointment, which he made, Grant Welland, executive VP for CEMA, said: “I’m looking forward to seeing Salim bring his entrepreneurial spirit and passion to our operations in CEE. We’re delighted to have him on board for such a key role within the management team at CEMA.”
Having trained and qualified as an Intellectual Property Lawyer at city firm Nabarro, Mukaddam joined the Internet, Interactive and Music division of BBC Worldwide in 2005. He then progressed to take over the international radio sales business, BBC Radio International in 2007.
