The Czech national transmission company Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) has expanded the coverage of the country’s regional DTT multiplex (RS8).
In a statement, it says that with the number of transmitters having been increased to 18, RS8 now reaches over 57% of the population.
RS8 has also added the channel Zak TV to its line-up, which includes Sport 5, TV 8, Ocko Expres, TV Noe, regionalnitelevize.cz and Barrandov Muzika.
According to Marcel Procházka, the director of strategy and regulation at CRa, RS8’s coverage is still increasing, with the focus being mainly on large cities and their surroundings.
RS8 has enough capacity for eight SD (MPEG-2) or four HD (MPEG-4) channels.
