Close to three-quarters of pay-TV subscribers in Hungary now opt for digital services.
In its latest report, for March this year, the regulator NMHH says the figure stood at 72.5%, based on data supplied by the leading providers of pay-TV services in the country.
The data also shows that the total number of cable and IPTV subscription stood at 2,239,681, of which 1,348,276 were digital.
Meanwhile, there were 898,887 DTH subscriptions and 101,685 using the services of the pay-DTT platform MinDig TV Extra.
The total number of digital subscriptions stood at 2,348,848 out of the 3,240,253 accounted for by the main providers. The estimated total in Hungary stood at 3,489,000.
UPC was the leading provider of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.9%.
It was followed by Telekom (25.4%) and Digi (24.9%), while fourth-placed Invitel claimed 4.6%.
