M7 Group-owned Skylink remains the leading DTH platform in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Data published by the M7 Group shows that as of the end of 2015 Skylink (1,185,000, 83%) still dominated the Czech DTH market, followed by Digi TV (120,000, 8%) and freeSAT (120,000, 8%).
Meanwhile in Slovakia, Skylink had a 68% share (710,000) of the DTH market, with Digi TV and Magio Sat claiming 26% (270,000) and freeSAT 6% (68,000).
In Slovakia, DTH accounted for 50% of TV reception (1.048 million households) as of the end of last year, with cable (25%, 530,000) the next most popular. DTT claimed only 13% (262,000) and IPTV 12% (260,000).
This contrasted with the Czech Republic, where DTT reception accounted for 46% of TV viewership (1,925,000 households).
This was followed by DTH (34%, 1,425,000), cable (14%, 610,000) and IPTV (6%, 240,000).
